About Xomexo
We sell handmade decor sourced directly from artisan families across India, without agents or exporters in between.

Our Story
Started in 2016, still a small team
Xomexo began when our founder was sourcing terracotta for a hotel project and realised how little of the price was reaching the potter. Most of it was going to the agents in between.
So we started buying directly instead. We visit the workshop, agree a price with the artisan, pay half in advance and collect the finished batch ourselves. There is no third party in the chain and nothing is taken on consignment, so the artisan gets paid whether or not the batch sells.
Ten years on we work with more than 40 families across nine states, and we still add only a handful of new products each year.

How We Work
From the workshop to your door
Sourcing a new product takes us the better part of a year. Here is what happens in between.
Step 01
We visit the workshop
Someone from our team spends two or three days at the cluster, watches the full process and meets everyone involved in making the product.
Step 02
The artisan sets the price
We ask for a breakdown of material, labour, firing and wastage, and work our margin on top of that rather than negotiating the maker down.
Step 03
We order a trial batch
Six to ten pieces, paid for in full. We ship them, check how they travel and take customer feedback before committing to anything larger.
Step 04
A one-year agreement
A signed order with a minimum quantity, half paid in advance and a fixed price for twelve months, so the family is not borrowing money to buy raw material.
Step 05
Quality check and packing
Every piece is checked at our Delhi unit before it ships. Packing is rice husk and corrugated kraft, with no plastic anywhere in the box.
Step 06
Delivered to you
Dispatched within two working days and delivered across India in three to six. Breakages in transit are replaced free of charge.

Packaging
Plastic-free packing, every order
We pack with rice husk, corrugated kraft and paper tape instead of foam and bubble wrap. It costs a little more and takes longer at the packing table, but nothing in the box needs to go to landfill.
Ceramics do break in transit occasionally. If yours arrives damaged, send us a photo within 72 hours and we will replace it free of charge. You do not need to return the broken piece.
